Fear The LORD . . .

"Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound the alarm in my holy mountain. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand"Joel 2:1.

Indeed, the trumpet is even now sounding. Can you hear it? God is revealing His eternal purposes to those with ears to hear. Your religious affiliation is not important; your relationship with your Savior is critical. We are on the threshold of the fulfillment of those things foretold by the prophets of old. Can you read the words of Isaiah and not be stirred in your inner man? God has dealt with me strongly over the past two years in three areas. These three areas are the keys that will determine how we survive the days ahead: Belief, Obedience and the Fear of the Lord. We must come into absolute compliance with the Holy Spirit in these three areas of our lives, if we are to have any hope of walking a victorious, fruitful Christian life. We will never grow into full stature sons of God we are called to be, if we are lacking in any of these areas.

The only way to come into the knowledge of the Lord is by the things that we suffer. Is the servant greater than his Master? It is enough that the servant be as his Master. The holy mountain of the Lord is symbolic for literal things. It is not a geographical site on this planet. We, His people, are His body in this earth and make up this holy mountain. And our desire should be to climb as high as we can. To achieve in Christ all that He desires for us, both individually and corporately. As members of His body, we are each one called to a specific place, with a specific job to do. We do not have the freedom of choosing what we want to do for God. We do have the privilege of surrendering our will to His; of giving our utmost to accomplish that which God will empower us to do in accordance with His perfect will. If our hearts are surrendered to His will, above our own, the Holy Spirit will lead and guide us in the way we should go. If we are off the mark, we will find ourselves plunged into situations that will bring about the change in our thinking or actions that we need, that we might be brought into conformity to his will. We are called to be holy.

Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God"Lev. 20:7.

"Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God"1 Peter 1:15.

"Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy"1 Peter 1:16.

This is our primary calling. Jesus came and paid the price for our sins, giving us the opportunity of knowing the Father. No unclean thing shall enter His presence. We must be holy, to come to the Father. He is even now at the Door. Right now is the time to purchase oil. Right now is the time to decide with which group of virgins we want to be aligned; the wise or the foolish. The oil is the Spirit. To purchase it requires paying a price. The cost is our self-life, our complete and unconditional surrender. No holding back, no strings attached. We all need to learn a healthy fear of the LORD. Our greatest fear should not be anything that man might do to us, but that we might in any way fail Christ who died for us. Even now the alarm is sounding. It's echoes are reverberating throughout Christ's body. This has never happened before. We are being asked to step out into unknown depths. The faint of heart will sink beneath the waves if they take their eyes off Christ for even one second. Now is the time to establish our hearts. Our relationship in Christ is the only place of refuge from the storms that are coming.

Having been born again, we consider ourselves part of God's family. It is our responsibility to learn and live by the rules of God's household. We must believe every word that Jesus spoke, both those recorded in the scriptures as well as those spoken in the ear of the believer. We must believe His words above and beyond that which we hear with our ears and see with our eyes in this fallen world. We must strive to obey and walk in that which He has already revealed to us by His Holy Spirit.

Several years ago my husband was going through an exceptionally trying time in his life. God had told him to step out in a way that was outside the accepted, conventional norm. He obeyed but was being harshly judged by Christian friends and family for his actions. One day as he struggled with the situation, the LORD spoke to him and said "to obey Me is to worship Me." Immediately he was filled with inner peace and thanked God for the mysterious ways in which He chooses to work.

As members of God's family we must learn the rules of His household. "This is the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain the whole limit thereof round about shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house"Ezek. 43:12.

In ourselves we do not know how to be holy. Yet we must learn holiness, if we will come in and go out from the mountain of the LORD. Households must have rules, or chaos would reign. Usually, the parents or the oldest or most mature in the house set the rules and oversee that which goes on in the house. They make sure the bills are paid, the laundry gets done, that the yard is kept up, that the household members are fed healthy food, etc. The children in the house are not concerned with where the bill money comes from, or how much work it is to take care of the family; they are only interested in playing. As born again members of God's family, do we want to become full stature sons, or are we content to remain little children? Is our focus on being made to feel good? Or is our heart's desire to set the captives free?

The other evening the TV was on but I wasn't paying much attention. It was the star wars movie The Phantom Menace. Suddenly I looked up to see the Jedi warrior speaking to the young Luke Skywalker. His words hit me with great clarity. He said, "Your focus determines your reality. Stay close by my side." That is what our Lord is telling us right now. If our eye is centered on Christ, and we stay close to Him at all times, we will be safe. If our focus is on the troubles and injustices in this fallen world, we will be engulfed in inner turmoil. We will be overwhelmed with unanswered questions as to the why's. Jesus is the answer, but we must know Him, and grow up in Him.

He is moving across the face of the earth even now. He is about to move in that which saints have longed for down through the ages. The restoration of the world back to God is at hand, and the entire world will tremble. May we all strive to humbly come into the mountain of the LORD. May we put down 'reason' and learn to live by the Spirit of Christ within. 1 Cor. 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. This verse is not limited to just those things we will experience in heaven, after we have passed from this mortal life. We cannot conceive of that which God desires to bestow on us now, while still in these mortal bodies. This generation was chosen from before the foundations of the earth. We have a job to do: The restoration of the world back to God. Listen to that still, small voice within. Learn to hear it loud and clear above the clamor of the world around you. Make your choices wisely. We are standing at the threshold of the greatest move of God the world has ever witnessed. It will far exceed the exodus from Egypt. God has never moved with man as He is preparing to move now.

"And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts. For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed"Malachi 3:5-6.

We must BELIEVE.

We must OBEY.

We must have a healthy, Reverential, FEAR of the LORD.

Amen
