How do we please God?

How do we know with assurance that we are operating in the realm of the spirit and not of the flesh?

What is coming?

These are all questions we can ask ourselves. Troubles and fear are on the increase all around us. There is only one way that we can know the answers to these and all questions. That way is by pressing into a personal relationship with God.

To do that requires commitment, focus, determination, perseverance, and absolute obedience. As we grow in our relationship, we discover that many of our ideas and beliefs were wrong, and we have to let them go. We learn that believing God is very real; very now; very active. We do not believe in a book of stories, but in an active, living God. Much of what we have been taught is simply traditions and imaginings of men, and God is not in it.

Because of the lateness of the hour we do not have a lot of time left to learn all that we need to learn. The Holy Spirit will lead and guide us, open our spiritual eyes and understanding to see the truth that we have so long overlooked. If our trust is placed in our pastor, teacher, leader, any one other than God, we can be deceived and misled. Jesus' invitation was personal; He did not tell us to come to Him through an intermediary.

God is about to move in a way that the church is totally unprepared for. The church is not looking for the Revelation of Jesus Christ; the church is looking to be caught away. They have had all the scriptures; yet have not discerned the times. The church today is Babylon, yet in the midst of her there is a remnant that knows God. These are the ones that God is going to call out. When they see and hear the truth, they will recognize it, and will drop all of their former ideas to follow Christ. Those who do, will grow in spiritual stature and anointing, and be vessels that God can use to tear down the kingdoms of this world. The Word plainly tells us that judgment will begin with the house of God. Before He judges the world, He is going to judge His Body.

Each and every person who profess the name of Jesus will be tried, tested and purged to see whether we will serve God or not. The lukewarm He will spew out, the play actors will be exposed for what they are. As this happens, there will be many who will rise up against what God is doing and condemn it. They will cry out "God wouldn't do that!" but they will be wrong. We need as never before to discern the times. We need to have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying. Do not be afraid. We cannot walk in discernment from our flesh. We cannot overcome in our own strength. But we can do all things under the unction and guidance of the Holy Spirit. There will be definite lines drawn; sides chosen; be very careful that you choose the side of the Lord. We must keep our eye centered on the Lord, for if we look to the troubles that surround us we will falter.

We must remember that just as many of us have had to endure difficult and trying times, so must every one that will make it through the door. We have to allow others to experience the chastening rod of the Lord in their lives; we are made perfect through the things that we suffer. In our flesh we have such an aversion to suffering, it is sometimes difficult to accept that this is God's way of bringing about the necessary changes required to bring us to perfection.

It is sometimes easier to be the one going through the purging, than the one standing by and watching a brother or sister go through it. When you are in it, you are aware of the work God is doing within you. May we resist the fleshly impulse to interfere with what God is doing. God is preparing to unleash His power and glory on this world in a greater measure than He ever has, and He is going to do this through His many membered Body.

For years the message to prepare, prepare, prepare has been sounding. Do not become callous to its call, but seek the Lord with all your heart. Learn to hear His Voice above all others. Determine not to take a single step in any direction until you have the assurance that the step has the Lord's approval. Do not rely on your own limited knowledge and understanding; but seek the wisdom that comes from above.

As God begins to judge the church worldwide, we must have spiritual discernment to stay in proper step with what God is doing. We must grow in our relationship to the point where we are the servants and He is the LORD; and we no longer try to tell our Lord how to conduct his business. The work that God is about to spring forth is the restoration of the world back to God. The way He will bring this to pass is with mighty works and wonders. The enemy is just as actively preparing to fight against that which God is about to do. We can see much more evidence of the preparations of the other side than we see revealed at this time in the children of the King. Confusion covers the people. Spiritual darkness covers the land.

The most beneficial thing any of us can do at this time is to grow in their personal relationship with God. Do not count on your own righteousness to hold you. Do not imagine yourself as being exalted: but humble, meek and lowly. Be ready to stand back and behold the hand of God move in a way that the world has never beheld. Pray that we may be found worthy to be a servant of the Lord: that we may be allowed to be participants in this restoration work foretold by the prophets of old.

Isaiah 13:9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

Nahum 1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

Romans 8:1 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.

Revelation 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward to thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

Your stand for Christ may cost you dearly. You may lose your family, your friends, those nearest and dearest may reject you and turn away. But count the cost: we can KNOW GOD! We can be part of the restoration of the world back to God! The things of this life are but fleeting, eternity is without end. May we all press in to know God. May we all make our calling and election sure. May we be able to say from our heart, "not my will, but thine be done."
