Here's a question I have; It's meant just for you,
Where's your song, how's your heart, I've seen all you've been through.
I've listened and watched and you looked just fine,
But your heart has been silent for such a long time!
The Lord sent me a song, I'm a messenger of His,
I'll sing it to you, and it goes like this:
There once was a bird who sang all day long,
His name was "Chipper" because of his song.
One day his master was cleaning the place,
Little Chipper was singing because he felt safe.
But then in her "fast pace" way of doing things,
She thought, "I'll vacuum his cage" as she heard him sing.
You're right, Chipper was sucked up by her good intentions,
And laid in the darkness of this world's great inventions.
Suddenly grabbed from that pit, his mind in a fog,
In her confusion she thought, I must wash him off!
As the water and suds ran all over him,
He was shaken and frozen, but that's not the end...
She grabbed a hair dryer and turned on the hot wind,
Then she put poor Chipper back; thinking he'd sing.
Now his cage was all cleaned, but Chipper was stunned,
And all of this happened -- but by nothing he'd done!
I really don't think little Chipper had sinned,
But you can be sure if his song comes back again,
He'll sing out a warning to all who will listen,
"Watch out for the church and her good intentions!"
