THE CANDLE

When she gave her life to Jesus

He lit a candle in her heart

To shine His light into a world

That was hopeless and extremely dark

The flame burned brightly once

With passion and with desire

And the Light of God was seen

Reflecting in her eyes

Time went on, and the flame

Did not burn as bright

As it had in the years before

The light was slowly fading, almost

Hidden, behind her hearts door

She use to burn with compassion

And had mercy for the lost

She was once driven, by conviction

And daily took up her cross

She once spent time in the word

And oh, how her spirit yearned

For more of God and His ways

But now, she barely even had

The time to commune with God, and pray

She knew, her flame was dying

She knew, something had to be done fast

For if she could not keep the fire going

The light, would go out in her heart

Many things throughout the years

Had dampened out the flame inside

And now the candle, was hidden

When once it had burned clear and bright

She was no longer a light in her dark world

She no longer held out her candle for all to see

She was slowly growing cold, the fire in her heart

Was now, nearly out completely

Sad and defeated, she sat, not knowing what to do

Then the Holy Spirit came along,

And on the candle He blew

In her state of defeat she listened,

As the Spirit drew her near

Keep the candle burning, My child, He said

And do not let it be quenched, by all your fears

Fear will cause your light to grow dim

The only way to keep the candle burning

Is to fix your eyes on Jesus, and focus on Him

I am the Fuel

God is the Fire,

And JESUS is the Light

You need to stay close, and stay in the WORD

If you want to keep your candle, burning bright

The moment you distance yourself, and

Get caught up with worldly things

You will find that your candle will barely flicker

And its light will grow very dim

Keep your flame burning,

Ignite it, and do not let the light fade

Keep in the WORD,

Stay close and take the time to pray

Allow ME to search your heart and your soul

Allow Me to heal you, transform you,

And make you whole

Be real with Me, and real with men

Do not hide Your heart and pretend

Don't be something or someone you are not

Let your eyes, once again, reflect the Light of God

I called you to be a Light to the world

Hold your candle out for all to see

Light the candle and let it burn bright

So that the world will be drawn to ME.

Matthew Ch 5 vs. 13 - 16

13"Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavours of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.

14-16"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand! shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
