Until the day breaks and the shadows flee,
I will get me to the mountain of myrrh and frankincense
to Him whom my soul adores.
There I will stand upon my post of observation
and write the answered vision upon heart's tablet.
I see Him but He is not now;
I behold Him, but He is not near.
I speak, having the words of God,
having seen the vision of the Almighty.
All who pass by me in haste -
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
Though the vision tarry, it will surely come;
its fulfillment is yet for an appointed day.
O my Lord, by reason of the vision
sorrows and pains have come upon me,
and I retain no strength...
but You, O Abraham's God, are all I need
and it is from this mount that You will provide.
