Prophetic Pages

The lion hath roared, who will not fear? The Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

Amos 3:8

There has never been a greater need for true prophetic voices in the land, nor has there been a greater glut of false prophets and prophecies. It is amazing, in hindsight, to hear the warnings God gave to the Church as a Body over forty years ago, and see how those very words have come to fulfillment. Today we have the very thing in our midst that God told us would happen. How much more needful then is it for us to seek wisdom, to seek discernment, to try the spirits of what sort they are. To check the prophetic utterances against the Word as well as our inner witness. We will have no excuse on the day of judgment; we cannot say that we were never warned.

As of 2007, I feel led to make further comment. It is critical in this hour, that we as believers, read the Bible for ourselves. We can only judge a prophecy or Word as being from God, if we are walking in a personal relationship with God, and we know the scriptures. Hearsay is not enough. Placing our trust in any individual, regardless of how highly they may be esteemed, is no guarantee. The deceptions today are widespread. Those calling themselves prophets, and speaking in the name of the Lord, are everywhere. It is our responsibility to judge the 'word' given; by how it lines up with scripture, and by our inner witness. I encourage you to spend time in the Word of God every day, that we may all be 'thoroughly furnished and equipped'...and know (be able to discern) the voice of God amidst the multitude of voices clamoring for our attention.
