A Change of Perspective – Cathy Morris

A Change of Perspective -

Our reasoning mind takes hold of spiritual things, and twists and contorts them into more acceptable forms and shapes, rendering them unrecognizable to their original design. Also rendering them powerless to fully accomplish that which they were sent forth to accomplish in us. Hashem is doing His strange and mysterious work, within our hearts… renewing our minds… changing how we think and perceive… making us willing to let go of the old that we may embrace the new. As this process unfolds, our vision is becoming a little clearer, in that we can now see how limiting and small our former perception really was. We can see more, in that when we read a familiar passage of scripture it is with new eyesight. We are glimpsing into the MORE contained therein. Our reasoning mind received blessing and insight on the level attainable to the carnal man; but there is so much more to be had. We must first desire; and second allow the Spirit to lead us on… if we would begin to see into the depths and height’s and widths of the spiritual realm we are called to walk in. We are still in the finite, trying to grasp the infinite. Everything we have received has been filtered through our fleshly ability to comprehend. God is revealing an entirely new way (modus-operandi) – where the Spirit reigns while our flesh is being dethroned and brought into submission.

We are having to re-examine everything that we have been taught and believed, as what God is doing is so far beyond what we ever thought or expected. For example:

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen” Romans 11:33-36.

As long as ‘self’ still sits enthroned in our hearts, we imagine that we are full grown. We interpret everything spiritual according to our limited concepts. Primarily, it is all about ‘us.’ Everything spiritual that is presented to us, all that we see and hear is filtered through – ‘how does this affect me?’ We can spend an entire lifetime living this way, convinced that ‘our’ ministries, ‘our’ good works, are what God desires and that He is well pleased with us. We can totally fail to ever come to the realization that it is not all about us!

EVERYTHING is FOR HIM, and THROUGH HIM, and TO HIM… its all about GOD!
God does not require our ideas, our opinions, our help… He does however, require our obedience. The way to please God is this:

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” Rom 12:1-2.

Truly… “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! ….For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him?… But we have the mind of Christ” 1Co 2:16.

Is it any wonder then that Paul admonishes us all in Php 2:12 to “…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”?

Thank you Father for allowing us the opportunity to change our perspective, conforming to your will in all things. Amen & Amen
